I don't know if you're like me, but I adored the original Battletoads game on the NES. It was one of those games that I never owned, but rented over and over and over and over again. (Actually, that's not true. I owned the GameBoy version of the Toads, and I played the heck out of it, too. I was also bad at it.)

And do y'all remember Battletoads vs Double Dragon? It was crazy and even wackier than the Battletoads being alone…and it had Double Dragon characters. And this was before (I think) the fantastically bad DD movie!

And now…we get a chance to relive that wonder all over again. Because the Toads are back, baby! On August 20th, Rare is finally dropping a brand new Battletoads game.

I don't usually go in for beat-em-up games, but this one, I will absolutely nab. It's on Steam, which will be great. If I don't think I will stick with it, I can get a refund in under 2h of gameplay. OR I can play it on Game Pass. For free. Or…well, freeish.

I wish it were on Switch, but it's a Rare game, and they're a Microsoft property now. So that's a no go. Oh well.

But hey, the game is gorgeous, the animation is solid, and it looks like a ridiculously frantic Cartoon Network show that I'd fall in love with. So I am totally going to have this one on my computer on August 20th. Just watch.

So yeah…I was so excited when I saw the trailer on Twitter that it was coming out on August 20, I had to make a post about it so y'all would see it, too!
