[Geekery Toy Box] A Few of My Favorite Things

The past few times I have posted, I talked about upcoming toys and collectibles that have been announced, but due to COVID 19 those have been far and between recently and most of the new things that have been announced so far in 2020 have been delayed. So to distract and try and be positive, I decided that I wanted to show off some of my favorite collectibles that I’ve had over the years. Here are five of them!

Codename: Fulcrum

Time to admit an embarrassing fact about me: I did not watch any Star Wars content containing Ahsoka Tano until 2018. That is the year that I went into a Star Wars deep dive into Clone Wars and Rebels. We had gotten our 2019 Star Wars Celebration tickets and I vowed to myself to watch all of it before we went. After finishing both of them, I fell in love with Ahsoka–with her design, her character development, and of course her lightsabers! The photos you can see below are my Fulcrum Funko Pop as well as my signed Clone Wars Ahsoka by Ashley Eckstein, who I met while I was at Celebration! (She was super nice!)

A Whole New World

As a kid, my dream was to always go to Disney World. That fateful opportunity finally came to fruition in January 2019 when my girlfriend and I decided instead of gifts for Christmas that we would go on a trip instead. It’s a trip that I will never forget, and I loved every moment of it. For Christmas 2019, she got me a gift that makes me always think of Disney World every time I look at it. It is the Disney Skyliner with Mickey Mouse! It’s just a super cute piece and means quite a lot to me.

“I Am a Jedi, Like My Father Before Me.”

Here is yet another one of my favorite Star Wars pieces in my collection. If you were to ask me who my favorite Star Wars character of all time is, it would have to be Luke Skywalker. Something I can relate to Luke about is that in the Original Trilogy he was always positive and optimistic, something that I try to be every day no matter how stressful. So if Luke is my favorite character, why not get his signature Black Series Lightsaber?! My parents got me this as a gift a few years ago and it’s so cool and is super high quality. Out of the three lightsabers we own (Luke, Anakin, and Mace), this one will always be my number one!

“My Friends Are My Power!”

Do you like Disney? Do you like Final Fantasy? Then here is the game series for you! Kingdom Hearts is one of those series that I have been in love with ever since my friend Tyler let me play the first Kingdom Hearts on his PlayStation 2. Then, after I begged for it, I opened up to find it as my birthday present from my parents.

How does that relate to my next favorite thing? Because Kingdom Hearts 3! When that game came out I told myself I was going to go all out in getting every special edition I could get my hands on. This piece came with the Square Enix Store Collectors Edition, and it is the only Bring Arts set I own. It’s a three pack of Sora, Donald, and Goofy in the style of their Toy Story designs. It was definitely one of my favorite worlds in the new game. They are super articulate, and you can pose them in all sorts of different ways to get some pretty cool photos!

We Are the Phantom Thieves

If I had played Persona 5 back in 2017 when it first came out, it would’ve easily been my favorite game of that year. I finally got the chance to start playing it at the end of 2019 and beat it for the first time this past January, and I LOVED every bit of my 82 hour play-through. With Persona 5 Royal coming out next week, I wanted to take a second and show off my “Take Your Heart Edition” of Persona 5 that I bought not too long ago. My favorite piece from this whole package is definitely the Morgana plushie. I also really enjoy having the mini art book, as well as the sound selection soundtrack because the music in Persona 5 is stellar!

I hope you all enjoyed seeing some of my stuff, and I hope you all are staying safe and healthy during this uncertain time! Thanks for reading!
