S1E1 – Indie Games and the Value of Video Games and Media – “We Have No Idea What We’re Doing Yet”

In this, our very first episode:

Hi, geeks! We are Void and Beej, and this is our very first episode of The Geek to Geek Podcast! Thanks for tuning in, being awesome, and geeking out with us while we figure out exactly what it is we’re doing.

So since this is our very first episode, we thought that we would dive in and talk about the subjective value of video games and other media. We ask why some $60 games last for 4 hours and seem to be worth it, while others are just as fun, last for dozens of hours, but don’t really seem worth paying more than $10 for.

We touch on value of Indie games vs. mainstream triple-A titles, and how Steam sales and Gamestop trade-in values affect our buying habits. Plus, we touch on MMO subscription prices and free-to-play cash shops, older games, trusted creators, and a whole lot more.
