Dragon Quest FM S2 E20 – Adventures of Dai Announcements on #DragonQuestDay

Surprise! This week's episode of DQFM is a up a couple days early, because of Dragon Quest Day and all the new Adventures of Dai announcements we got today.

You can listen to the latest Dragon Quest FM episode right here:

May 27th is the release date of the very first Dragon Quest game in Japan, all the way back in 1986. And because of that, there tends to be fun announcements and news for the community every year.

This year is no different. Today, we learned about three (yes, three!) new Dai games, the new Dai anime series, a bunch of to-be-released Dragon Quest toys, and more! Be sure to listen to hear our thoughts on the announcements, and see what we think will come West (and what won't).

After that, we celebrate our 1-Year Anniversary of the show by discussing our favorite moments from the past year. From wacky games like Dr. Agon or B.J.?, special guests, and visual gags for an audio show–we talk about all our favs.

Dragon Quest: Adventures of Dai: Infinity Strash

Despite having one of the worst titles in SE history (come on…strash?), the game itself looks pretty awesome. From the look of it, we might be getting a full action RPG instead of a musou! How cool is that? (It's very cool, says Beej.)

The best news for this one? It's not a mobile game! Infinity Strash is going to be a full-fledged console game — though we don't know for which ones yet.

Dragon Quest: Adventures of Dai: Tamashii no Kizuna (Mobile Game)

This is the title we're probably the least excited about (but we want you to be crazy for it!). Neither of us are huge fans of mobile games, but we're glad this is being made nonetheless. It looks pretty cool, and we hope that it makes it to the West so that we can try it and see if it's for us. That said, we'll be trying it in Japanese regardless.

Dragon Quest: Adventures of Dai: Xcross Blade

This one is likely a long-shot for Westerners, but it would be absolutely cool if it were to cross the ocean. Xcross Blade is a new arcade game (yep, a full arcade) that you collect physical cards for in order to play. We adore the cards, and we want them in our collections. It's likely never to make it here because of cultural differences regarding arcades, but we can hope, right?

Dragon Quest: Dai No Daibouken Anime

Scheduled for October 2020, the Adventures of Dai anime is going to air! The trailer looks superb, and we can't wait to check it out. Especially since we've read that Ryutaro Ichimura is in charge of it. He produced DQ8 and DQ9, so we're on board immediately. He knows his stuff.
