Tomas härenstam of free league publishing (gen con 2024 interview)

Tomas Härenstam Gen Con 2024 Interview + Beej’s New Podcast

Last week started out kind of rough with the, you know, losing my job and all. But one of the highlights was definitely being able to snag half an hour of Tomas Härenstam's time at Gen Con on Friday for an interview. We talked at length about Dragonbane and some of the other cool games that Free League Publishing creates.

I'm using this interview as the launch episode for my new BJK Games podcast, all of which will be published through my new Patreon and then they'll go out to Spotify and wherever else you may get your podcasts.

You can listen to the inaugural interview by clicking the player above, or by checking out the original podcast on Patreon, the episode on Spotify, or the Substack article.

It was a delightful conversation, even if I was a couple minutes late and flustered because of trying to navigate the sea of thousands of people flooding into the exhibit hall at the same time I was. (I originally went to the Free League conference room instead of the booth in the exhibit hall, so I had to literally run and shove my way through the throng to not miss my scheduled slot.)

Things worked out, and Tomas was a real delight to talk to.

There is SO MUCH more in the interview, too. You really gotta give it a listen, and then go pick up your copy of Dragonbane if you haven't. It's my favorite RPG and my primary focus of content creation for a reason.

If you aren't familiar with Dragonbane, be sure to read my glowing review of the core set.
