D&D Releases 1st Single from 50th Anniversary Vinyl and It Slaps!

A few weeks ago, I got an email about D&D releasing a 50th Anniversary Vinyl album called Bardic Inspiration, and I got really excited for two reasons:

First, Baldur's Gate 3 taught me that D&D music can be truly phenomenal in the right hands. If you don't believe me, check out the fight music in Raphael's palace in BG3.

Second, my wife and I only got a record player last year (of our own, at least, since we listened to our parents' when we were kids). Since then, we've been collecting cool albums that we come across.

And when I heard there was a D&D album, I knew I was gonna have to get it. Unfortunately, there were no preview tracks available at the time, but that's no longer the case! Today, “Arise, Tiamat!” got a preview on Apple Music, and I like what I hear.

According to the press release, the album will have 12 tracks and release simultaneously on physical and digital on November 15, 2024! The double vinyl will retail for $49.99. That may be a bit pricey, but given how much I've seen some other records cost lately, I expected it to be at least $89.99.

I'm no audiophile or anything, but honestly, this is actually something I would (and will!) listen to. I keep some kind of low-fi or instrumental music on a lot while I work (for me, writing and editing is really hard with music that has a lot of lyrics).

If the rest of the album is anything like “Arise, Tiamat!,” then I think this one's gonna be getting spun quite a bit in my house.

If you like what you hear, you can click here to pre-order D&D's Bardic Inspiration: A Musical Journey through the Forgotten Realms or tap the album cover below. Let me know what you think about “Arise, Tiamat!” too!

Oh! Does my mention of to the song from BG3 make you want to get back into Avernus? Check out our list of reasons why you should get Chains of Asmodeus!
